AutoCAD Basics - Lecture 02 - Display/ User Interface of AutoCAD

Hello Friends!!

Let's Today start off with the basics of AutoCAD, The Interface, Toolbars, Tools and elements of AutoCAD.

    Display of AutoCAD

    ·        Display of AutoCAD is also known as the UI/User Interface of the AutoCAD. It contains Application Bar, Quick Access Bar, Title Bar, Menu Bar, Ribbon, Workspace, View Tool Bar, Visual Tool Bar, Compass, Navigation Bar and Command Bar.

    Application Bar


     The Application Bar shows all the menu options like New File / Drawing,  Open, Save, Import, Export, Print and Publish.

    Quick Access Bar  


             The Quick Access Bar contains the short cuts of same options that are available in the application bar along with undo, redo and modify options. 

    Title Bar  


     The title bar is the bar that shows the title the drawing or the file is saved. For Example: In the above image, The Title bar shows the file name a   drawing1.dwg, here, “drawing1” is the file name that I have given while .dwg is the AutoCAD file format. 
      

    Menu Bar  

     This is the bar where one can access all the tools and settings in AutoCAD.

    Ribbon

     The ribbon has many tabs that hold tools that are used for drawing. It consists of Draw tools, Modelling tools, View tools, Modify tools and more.


    Visual ToolBar

    It shows different styles of visual effects of a drawing like 2D Wireframe, Conceptual, Realistic and more.



    Compass

    Compass is used to change the direction or the view of a drawing.


    Workspace

    Workspace is the area where we draw sketch or profile. It is also known as Viewport or Grid Area.


    Navigation Tool Bar

    It is used to access Navigation tools like Pan, Zoom, Orbit, View cube, etc.,

    Command Bar

    The command bar is the area where the command is entered in order to sketch a profile in AutoCAD.
